Attendance Reminder

In the spirit of a new semester, I’d like to remind you of the school attendance expectations. Students should be in the classroom by 8:00 a.m. ready to start their day. Our class is working so hard on math, and we start right at 8:00. Students are allowed into the building as early as 7:15 a.m. to the CafĂ© for breakfast and move to the circle drive at 7:40 a.m. If your child eats breakfast at school, that should be picked up on the way to the classroom before 8:00.

In addition, students leaving before 3:15 p.m. are missing vital classroom work. If your child must leave early for a doctor’s appointment or for another valid reason, please notify me in advance by email. This allows me time to gather necessary work for your child. Thank you for waiting to tour middle schools until acceptance letters are received. This is helping to keep students in class.

Jan. 20-23

We have benchmark testing this week. These are full length, four hour practice STAAR tests. We will take math on Wednesday, reading on Thursday, and science on Friday. Students have been well-prepared and have practiced their testing strategies. I have so much confidence in them!
